Been using Ubuntu for the past couple of days because my Macbook charger decided to die on me, meaning I haven't been able to use it. Which was a real hassle because I scanned around 80 photos and couldn't upload them since I didn't have access to them.
I think this is a sign I'm due for an upgrade. Maybe at the end of the year. Went out and spent $120 on a charger today. So at least now it works. Battery lasts 2 hours max, which isn't bad for a 2 year old laptop.
Pretty disappointed with the scans. I need to learn how to focus faster wide open. Curse my bad eyes. From what I've seen people do with slide film it's a lot nicer. The sharpness and grain anyway. The lack of daylight savings means that it gets darker faster though which = faster film. Annoying because my Velvia and Etka-something E100VS (The Kodak slide film. Too lazy to look up how to spell it) are both 100 ISO meaning I NEED LIGHT!
haha no idea what you're talking about in the last paragraph... which just highlights the fact i'm not a photographer u could teach me
technology is temperamental in both senses of the word: temporary and moody. d'you reckon a mac is much better than a pc? i'm still thinking about getting a mac...

Lol I'm thinking of getting a camera soon - but probly just a simple digital one for starters. What d'you reckon I should look for in the camera? Planning just to practise framing and shooting ... stuff haha

Depends really what you want. So I guess you won't want a DSLR. Have a look at the Canon G9 or S5? There are quite a few more but I'd look for noise performance and the ability to have full manual control.

And somehow, the best photographers seem to come from Canada.
Mmm, I was looking at the S5 because ... haha... my friends are thinking of getting a camera for me... so I thought I might as well research to help them! I don't think I could expect more than a S5 because it'd be unfair to expect much more...
Canons seem to be good

The weather isn't TOO bad....if you stand in the sun. Tonight was cold though. Especially walking home from the bus stop.
